Since the summer of 2022, we’ve poured our hearts and souls into The Sky and Earth Know — writing, translating, and photographing Roma life from the inside out. Every story we tell carries lived experience, respect, and truths rarely spoken outside the tribe.
We’ve now entered a new chapter.
To sustain this work — and to honor the value of what we share — we’re introducing a new rhythm and subscription model.
How It Works
We will publish every Wednesday.
Every first, second, and third Wednesday of the month, we publish a long-form article.
Every fourth Wednesday, we release a Romani song feature — with audio, lyrics in Romanes, and full English translation.
(If the month has a fifth Wednesday, we send a small bonus.)
Each post is written to be read and enjoyed by everyone.
But halfway through (sometimes two-thirds in), you’ll find a small line:

From there, paid readers will continue into deeper layers — the personal stories, the unspoken customs, the voices that aren’t shared elsewhere.
Free readers will still be able to read the first half of every post, always crafted with care and meaning.
