"Was the wedding cursed?" Our Romani tribe's year in 30 pictures

As this year draws to its end, we will tell you some stories - more with pictures, less with words.

The very first day of 2024 began dramatically in our tribe. The entire year was marked with joy and tragedy, with fights for survival and celebrations, with shattered hopes and plans that were pushed to fruition against all odds. Some of the Roma in our community believe that the biggest event of the year - a wedding at the end of July, is what constellated everything else that transpired. Others believe the wedding was a response to everything else that happened.

All of the pictures here are taken by either Martina or Pepi, except for one; the most important one, taken by Pepi’s sister Nana.
