A folklore song of the Romani across the Balkans, āEderleziā is a song about the traditional May 6 celebration of the arrival of spring, also celebrated as St. Georgeās Day among Christians and Hıdırellez among Muslims. The song is translated and sung in Bulgarian, Greek, Turkish, Polish, and Serbian, among others. It was made widely popular by Goran BregoviÄ in the Emir Kusturica movie āTime of the Gypsies.ā The version we share below is performed by the Bulgarian Roma singer Sofi Marinova.
