Auction for a cause: Bid for this stunning painting by Romani artist Christine Ford
and support a fundraiser for 30 displaced Romani families
Dear friends,
As you are aware, one of our readers launched a GoFundMe Page for our tribe, in an effort to raise funds for the street cleaning workers and the 30 displaced families. You can read all about this in our post below.
We are very touched and humbled by the fact that many Romani individuals and organizations have shared this fundraiser with their followers, organized giveaways, and come up with many other creative ways to encourage donations.
Today, we are excited to share with you one particular initiative.
Christine Ford, an artist and painter of Romanichal descent living in New Zealand, has donated her painting “Romani Camp” to be auctioned off in support of our fundraiser.
You can check out Christine’s work here:
You can follow her Instagram Page
You can follow her Facebook Page
You can visit her phenomenal online exhibition “Patrins to my children” at Art Without Boundaries here.
How to bid in the auction?
The starting (minimum) bid for the painting is 50 USD. For reference, it would normally sell for 250 USD.
You can place your bid by responding to this post or commenting under our Instagram post about the auction here.
Our Instagram post will have a pinned comment showing the current highest bid.
The auction will run until September 15. You can bid as many times as you want.
On September 16, we will contact the highest bidder and ask them to donate the pledged amount to the fundraiser’s GoFundMe page and send us a screenshot.
Once we receive the screenshot, Christine will ship the painting.
We are very hopeful to be able to provide proper winter gear for the street cleaning workers and some basic essentials for the families in our tribe who are living in atrocious conditions.
We will be very grateful if you can donate, bid in the auction, or simply share it with friends!
We are also very grateful for Anya’s efforts to organize the fundraiser and Christine’s generosity in donating her painting. We wanted to raise as much awareness as we can. Starting next week, we will be back to our regular “program” of publishing one article on Mondays and one song on Fridays.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Pepi and Martina
